The new Cold War in Northeast Asia is intensifying as we enter the 2020s. The trade war began when the United States imposed retaliatory tariffs on $34 billion worth of imports from China, and China responded in the same way. The Northeast Asian country is heading for an anti-China global coalition and a China-Russia confrontation amid the competition for supremacy between the United States and China.

These conflicts, which bring tension to Northeast Asian countries, threaten the economic and cultural prosperity that has been difficult to build by the civil society of each country. One of the Northeast Asian studies to solve this problem is the task of the 'North East Asian Dimension'. The goal is to find an alternative cooperative network and to create a new awareness community by connecting the perspectives and consensus of local members.

It focuses on building a foundation for cooperation between countries, such as unique memories of conflict and coexistence and sharing historical wounds to confirm mutual consensus. It also focuses on the conflict in Northeast Asia and analyzes the reason why feelings of hatred are intensifying around Northeast Asia in a geopolitical manner. It established networks with universities and national research institutes in Northeast Asia and held joint inter-Korean academic conferences with North Korea to shed deep light on the historical significance and value of the struggle against national resistance.

In the changing future, establishing a cooperative system between countries that have shared the past is becoming important in the present era. Additional studies are also needed to address the keynote of the new Cold War by expanding international cooperation to alleviate and improve ecological and environmental problems.
