CSIA’s Dormitories: Life of Cheongshim Students

In Cheongshim International Academy, there are several distinctive facilities and curriculums. One of the main reasons that make CSIA unique from other schools is its dormitories. The official name for the dormitories is GLTC, which stands for Global Leadership Training Center. There are two separate buildings for girls and boys; females being the Aein Dormitory and males being the Aecheon Dormitory. These names come from CSIA’s founding philosophy, aecheon, aein, aeguk. Each dormitory is separated into 3 areas, A, C, and G, which is CSIA’s motto.

CSIA’s dorms consist of 2 people, with beds, desks, and a bathroom. Students mainly use their dorms to rest after they had a long day at school. For those who want to study longer, there are 2 study rooms, each at the end of the corridors. With a week left before the mid-term exams, we can see the study rooms being full of students studying hard. Also, there are singing rooms, seminar rooms, and lounges that students can use. Some events that are held in dormitories often include the singing room voucher as a prize, which motivates students to participate actively.

In the GLTC, there is a special system called ‘GNC’. GNC stands for Good Night Cheongshim, and during this time, the prefects make announcements or do roll calls. Some students who have broken the rules are called to come out at this time, and they get admonished by the prefects. The most commonly broken rules include eating instant noodles and moving between rooms.

Other than the ones introduced above, CSIA’s dormitories host events such as the Friendship Tree and Habit Makers to grow friendships between roommates and to develop good habits. GLTC provides a comfortable environment for students to study and rest, fostering and encouraging students to enjoy their balanced lifestyle .
