Recently, on Jan 5th North Korean Military fired about 200 shots of coastal guns in the sea. Ever since the communication between North and South has been stopped, concerns of the citizens and accidental collisions are growing. The South argued that these kinds of behaviors are just a provocation of the North.

Kim Jong Un, The chairman of North Korean state committee said that ‘there is no possibility that the two koreas will be unificate’ in public. He also declared that two Korea is a hostile relationship not homogeneous and implied that North Korea will prioritize developing nuclear weapons in its military strategy for the upcoming year.

He continued, "In addition, attempts to justify provocations such as strengthening nuclear forces and launching additional military reconnaissance satellites can never be tolerated." He also targeted Yoon seok yeol government saying “The actions of the government so far have established a 'new cold war on the Korean Peninsula' as a fait accompli and are threatening North Korea and North Korea." "Didn’t we reject the attempts at dialogue? Dialogue, not confrontation, mutual respect and peaceful unification, not conflict and threats, is the path we must take.” by emphasizing.

Yoon Jae-ok said that the Chairman Kim Jong Un of the State Affairs Commission made war threats at the most  intense level since he took power at the Labor Party's plenary meeting,” and added "Unification with the Republic of Korea will not be achieved." He explained that it was impossible to define the relationship between North and South Korea as a relationship of belligerents at war, rather than a relationship of compatriots.

According to president Yoon, “The Republic of Korea’s current government is different from any government in the past, because of its military's "overwhelming response capabilities."

He also cited North Korea's previous declaration that it will no longer acknowledge the Northern Limit Line (NLL), which serves as the de facto maritime border between the two Koreas.

It follows on the heels of North Korea's early-year artillery shelling off its west coast close to the NLL and its Sunday launch of an intermediate-range ballistic missile (IRBM) into the East Sea.

Because of these provocations by North Korea, President Yoon vowed to punish the regime in case of provocation and said that “Undercover peace tactics that blackmail war or peace will no longer work. Fake peace gained by succumbing to the threat of provocation will only put our security at greater risk.”
