Tsunami of assessments

Can you believe it? It’s almost finals. Yes, it is hard to believe that we have to repeat what we did in midterms, only with 2 times as many subjects. Before midterms, most classes gave us self-studying time or finished our curriculum when we hit d-14. But that is not the case for finals. We have to pay the price for skipping 7 days of school. After our joyful school trip and the sweet taste of school break, stacks of quizzes, essays and reports await us. It is, especially, a pain in the butt since most of the subjects we take for finals require a lot of time to study. (History and Social Studies for example) But finals are out of our attention when we have 10 quizzes to prepare in a week. Here are some of the thoughts students have toward this situation.

Many students have felt the importance of studying regularly. Now that we have so little time to study for finals but again at the same time have so much to do, we don’t know what to focus on. The only solution to this problem is to have things already prepared. Many recommended reading books from the beginning of a semester as we have many book reports to turn in. Prep for finals should be done everyday by reviewing and previewing what you learnt in class.

Also, some students regretted going on the school field trip. Those who have not gone had relatively more time to prepare for the upcoming tsunami of tasks. Many people are believed to have used that time to study and have proved its effectiveness. Those who have gone are considering whether they will go or not next year.

This time of the semester gives us important lessons. It never hurts to get started on things  early. For those of you who are having a hard time managing everything, we should always prioritize our tasks. The Quill hopes every student will succeed in handling this difficult time wisely.
